Biography

Nashville resident since 1974. Attorney since 1985. Grant’s practice involves primarily family law matters involving divorce, parenting arrangements, child support and the myriad of issues that arise from these relationships. In every case his goal is to guide his client through the process in an efficient and expeditious manner.

He has been a Tennessee Rule 31 Mediator since 2012, after taking a 40 hour mediation course in 2012 and completing he annual required continuing legal education for mediators. He has served as mediator in over 100 mediations with a successful record of facilitating settlement agreements.

His entire practice has been in litigation and related work. He spent more than three years an Assistant District Attorney in Nashville and had more than 50 jury trials. Grant has appeared in court thousands of times for a variety of hearings, motions and arguments. He is experienced in the courtroom and comfortable in that stressful environment. If your case does not settle, then Grant has the skill and the experience to handle your case through trial and, if necessary, the appellate process.

Before concentrating on family law, Grant handled general litigation covering a variety of issues in both state and federal courts. Early in his career he worked for a 200 lawyer litigation firm in Chicago. In his early 40s he was a shareholder with a major Nashville general service firm and served as co-chair of the litigation section and headed the family law section.

Grant is a founding member of the Middle Tennessee Collaborative Alliance and a former board member having served as Chair of the Training Committee and Chair of Protocols. He has been a presenter at multiple family law seminars over the years.
